Open lecture on power engineering
On 19 January 2017, the Opole University of Technology held an open lecture for all students and staff of the University and the students of the Opole Electrical School Complex. The subjects discussed during the lecture could be of particular interest to representatives of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics and Computer Science.
The main theme of the lecture was the construction of modern power units and the related subject of design and project management. Constructions of conventional units powered by solid fuel and fuel gas have been presented, and at the end, the subject of nuclear power plant construction based on the example of the Olkiluoto power plant in Finland has been discussed.
In addition to the excellent speakers representing the ELEMONT, PKN ORLEN and POLIMEX OPOLE companies, our special guests were the students of the Secondary Technical School of Electrical Engineering from Opole. The meeting was opened by the vice-president for research, Prof. PhD (Eng.) Marian Łukaniszyn accompanied by the president of the ELEMONT company.
