INSTALLATION OF TIGHT BYPASS DAMPERS FOR THE FLUE GAS DESULFURIZATION (FGD) SYSTEMS OF UNITS 1-4 AT OPOLE POWER PLANT

In 2019, another major project begins: the installation of tight bypass dampers for the Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) systems of Units 1-4 at the Opole Power Plant. . This is a great opportunity to further strengthen our presence at the Power Plant, this time during modernization works on the “old” units. This massive project is scheduled for 2019-2022 and is driven by the European Union’s BAT (Best Available Techniques) Directive regarding Environmental Protection.

Scope of work

  • Dismantling of existing flue gas duct dampers
  • Installation of new flue gas duct dampers
  • Coating of flue gas ducts with a chemical-resistant lining
  • Execution of new thermal insulation
  • Dismantling of electrical and automation installations related to the power supply and control of the dampers, as well as auxiliary systems (sealing air)
